Nak cari something specific? Guna 10 minit scroll dan search.

Then one day, saya buat something yang mungkin sound crazy.

Saya bagi OpenClaw (Nat) access penuh ke Obsidian vault saya.

Yep. Full access. All 2,765 notes.

Obsidian App

Kenapa Saya buat ni?

Before saya explain apa yang AI boleh buat, saya nak share why I made this decision.

My Setup

Actually, saya takde push. Saya ada:

  1. M715q - Linux server kat rumah
  2. Obsidian - Vault yang saya baru setup
  3. Notes - 2,765 pages dari Roam, migrated recently
  4. AI assistant - Nat, yang dah kerja dengan saya since last year

Then I thought: "Kenapa tak connect mereka semua?"

Benefits yang saya see:

  • AI can search my notes instantly
  • AI can find connections between ideas
  • AI can help draft content using my research
  • No more manual searching

But then, ada fear jugak. "Is this safe?" "What if AI accidentally share something private?"

Apa yang AI Boleh Buat Sekarang?

Since give access, here's what Nat can do:

1. Search Instant

Before:

  • Buka Obsidian
  • Type dalam search bar
  • Scroll through results
  • Time: 2-5 minutes

Now:

  • "Nat, cari apa yang aku tulis tentang ASB dividend"
  • AI search all 2,765 notes
  • Bagi answer dalam 5 seconds

2. Connect Ideas

AI takde tau apa yang aku rasa. AI just process data. But dengan access to my notes, AI boleh:

  • Find related ideas across different notes
  • Suggest connections yang aku tak realised
  • Combine insights dari multiple sources

Example: Aku nak write tentang "Cara Kira Dividen ASB." AI boleh cari:

  • Notes about ASB yang aku ada
  • Related ideas about investment
  • Past blog posts yang related

3. Help Draft Content

AI can use my existing notes sebagai context untuk draft new content.

Instead of "write about X", I can say:
"Use my notes about ASB to write a blog post about dividend calculation."

AI dah tau:

  • My writing style
  • What I've already covered
  • My audience

Bukan Semua Orang Perlu Buat Ni

I understand that not everyone will be comfortable dengan this.

Before you judge, here are my security considerations:

1. Local-First

My Obsidian vault is on my server (M715q). Takde cloud sync. Takde external access.

AI access to the vault through local file system. Data tak keluar dari rumah.

2. My Server, My Control

Nat runs on my Linux server. Nothing goes to external API dengan my notes.

When I ask something, processing happens locally.

3. I Control Access

I can revoke access anytime. I can limit which folders AI can access.

Right now, AI has full access because I trust the setup. But I can change this.

4. No Training Data

What I share with AI stays with AI. Takde nothing goes to training data.

This is different dari ChatGPT atau Claude where your prompts might be used for training.

Apa yang Saya Dapat?

Since give access, here's what changed:

1. Content Creation is Faster

I can create content using my own research. AI use my notes sebagai context.

Example: "Write a blog post about Bitcoin halal using my notes."

AI tau apa yang aku dah write, apa yang audience aku suka, apa yang relevant.

2. Ideas are Connected

AI bagi suggestion untuk connect ideas yang saya tak terpikir.

"You wrote about ASB in 2024 and Bitcoin in 2025. These could be connected in a 'Islamic Investment' series."

3. Knowledge is Leveraged

My 2,765 notes are no longer siloed. They're searchable. They're useful.

Instead of being a "library that collects dust," my knowledge base is now actively used.

Apa ni Mean for Content Creators?

I think we're entering a new era of personal knowledge management.

Before:

  • Notes are for personal reference
  • Search is manual
  • Knowledge is siloed

After:

  • Notes are searchable by AI
  • Knowledge is connected
  • Your second brain becomes your competitive advantage

The key difference: AI can leverage your personal knowledge in ways you can't do yourself.

You have 10 years of notes. You can't search them all instantly. AI can.

You have 500 ideas. You can't remember all connections. AI can.

You have research from 100 books. You can't recall everything. AI can.

Saya Pun Still Learning

This is an experiment. I'm still figuring out the best workflows.

Some days, I still prefer manual searching. Some days, AI suggestions are game-changing.

But one thing is clear: Having AI access to my second brain has changed how I create content.

Konklusi

Giving AI access to my notes was a big decision.

But here's what I realised:

  • My notes are valuable
  • AI can help leverage that value
  • Security is manageable (local-first, my server)
  • The benefits outweigh the risks

If you have a knowledge base (Obsidian, Notion, Roam), consider what AI access could mean for you.

Maybe not full access like me. Maybe just search. Maybe just particular folders.

But the potential is there.

Follow My Journey

I'll be sharing more about this experiment on this blog. How it works, what I've learned, what works and what doesn't.

If you're curious about:

  • How to set this up
  • Security considerations
  • Workflow tips

Let me know in comments. Perhaps I'll write more about this!

This post was drafted dengan help dari AI yang ada access ke notes saya. Ironi, kan?
